FSAE Alumni Reception

FSAE Alumni Reception

The Cooper Union FSAE Motorsports invites you to a student and alumni event on September 28th in the New Academic Building at 41 Cooper Square from 6 to 9 PM.

Formula SAE (FSAE) is an intercollegiate design competition hosted by the Society of Automotive Engineers. The competition tasks student teams with designing and building formula-style racecars from the ground up.  Cooper Motorsports competes annually at the Michigan FSAE event alongside 120 teams from around the world.
2016 CU Motorsports teamCooper Union FSAE Motorsports is the largest club at The Cooper Union, boasting upwards of 30 active members.  We build and race a car each May in Brooklyn, Michigan.  Team members raise money, estimate and justify our business case, and execute novel research to take our car to the next level.  The team has been participating in the international FSAE competition held in Brooklyn, MI for 10 years.  More than 200 alumni have participated in the program.  We would like for CU Motorsports alumni to come back to the school and see for yourselves how the program has grown.

The September 28 event is open to all alumni and their guests.  It will feature a showing of the Cooper FSAE 2016 racecar, which was used at competitions in Michigan and in Toronto during May 2016.   Students and FSAE alumni will be in attendance to tell you about the immense amount of volunteer work that went into the creation of the car and their design plans for the future.  Additionally, there will be refreshments and a mixer as well as tours of the Automotive Lab with current students on the team.
