Campaign Statement

My goals as VP Faculty-Student Liaison would be to:

  1. Work in partnership with the CUAA President and as an Officer on the Executive Committee (ExCom) to improve, strengthen, and develop the CUAA’s relationship with The Cooper Union and in particular, the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs.
  2. Improve the position of VP Faculty-Student Liaison to better facilitate developing, maintaining, and enhancing the connection of the CUAA to the Deans, the faculty, and students, improving communications with the departments that welcome alumni representation, and creating more meaningful alumni interactions with students.
  3. Assist in enhancing the CUAA’s presence on campus, improving our connections with the student body, and in tandem with the departments supporting students, working to develop the CUAA’s relationship with students as they transition to alumni.

Biography

Ms Giordano retired from service as a fine arts educator, and teacher’s union rep, after 30 years with the NYC Department of Education. She is currently in her third term on the CUAA Council. As VP Faculty Student Liaison, 2021-22, Ms Giordano facilitated the creation of the first Student-Alumni Committee.
