Campaign Statement

At a time when I was just stepping out onto my own, Cooper Union was formative. It was a place for me to gain new knowledge, try new things, cement lifelong friendships, and learn how to think and even more importantly, to question. It was through the classes, the community, the neighborhood, and the activities, like student council, where I was given opportunities and permission to explore and find out who I wanted to be. I graduated as an engineer, who took art classes, and went on to be a designer – “for the advancement of science and art” is personal and something I am passionate about. I have much to be grateful for from my time at Cooper Union, and it would be a privilege to serve, and continue to give back through the Cooper Union Alumni Association.
