Campaign Statement

My purpose is to steadfastly continue serving the Cooper Union Alumni Association (CUAA) and The Cooper Union. I’d like to dedicate myself to performing the services that the CUAA has elected me for and to building a consensus within the alumni body.


Biography

Margaret is Founder and President of Milestone Architecture PLLC, a global architectural and design practice. She has 20 years of experience designing new, restoration and sustainable renovation projects for academic institutions, health care institutions and corporate and retail organizations. Recent projects have also included exhibition design, theatrical set design, and implementation of storm resilience measures in high-risk neighborhoods such as the Lower East Side and Chinatown.

She is a visiting assistant professor at the New York School of Interior Design and the New York Institute of Technology school of architecture, and was also a visiting assistant professor with the Pratt Institute school of architecture. Her work has received many awards, and she has published and lectured both in the US and abroad. She is LEED AP certified and an AIA registered architect.

She is the Academic Liaison for the Construction Specifications Institute. She manages the cu2as, a pro-bono advisory service composed of CU alumni volunteers. She has volunteered for Phonathon, has served as Co-Chair of the Events Committee and is presently serving as Vice President of Faculty/Student Liaison on the CUAA.
