We are pleased to announce that Meet the Candidates Night will be held on March 15, 2023, beginning at 6:30 pm.  For all candidates, council members, other alumni and Cooper Union seniors that can attend in person, this event will be held live at The Cooper Union (room to be announced).  Light refreshments will be served.  This event will also be conducted over Zoom for council members and candidates that cannot attend in person, and broadcast via livestream.

The 2023 Council election will begin on March 15, 2023, at 10 pm, shortly after the conclusion of Meet the Candidates Night.  The election will close on April 30, 2023, at midnight.  The Election Committee is pleased to announce that this election will be conducted over the electronic voting platform Election Buddy, which has been used worldwide by nearly 12,000 organizations to conduct over 190,000 elections.  Election Buddy has numerous features that make voting easier and more robust, while ensuring high election integrity.

An email containing a link to a secure ballot will be emailed to you when the election begins, with reminder emails sent out as needed thereafter.  To ensure that you receive a ballot when the election begins, we ask you to register or re-register to vote if you have not received a ballot in the last two elections, if you are a Cooper Union senior, or if you are unsure.  And if you did not receive a ballot after the election has begun, you may register to vote up to two weeks before the election closes.  Please also let the Election Committee know if you need a paper ballot.  Requests for paper ballots will be considered on a request-by-request basis.

Beginning with this election, once you cast your ballot, you cannot spoil it and re-vote.  All votes are final upon their submission.  So please carefully check your ballot before submitting it – you will be given the opportunity to do so.

Among the many candidates running in this year’s election, we are pleased to have four excellent candidates running for two open Alumni Trustee positions.  A list of these four candidates and all the others, and their biographies, campaign statements and photos, is available here.  The candidates’ biographies, campaign statements and photos will be part of the ballot this year, so you can refer to them conveniently while you are voting.

All requests and other inquiries should be made to cuaaelections@cooperalumni.org
