Dear Cooper Alumni & Friends,

Today is a historic day for The Cooper Union. Yesterday afternoon, the Board of Trustees approved a plan to return to full-tuition scholarships. The vote came after extensive evaluation and deliberation, including careful consideration of the feedback we received from community members since the Free Education Committee’s recommendations were published in January. We are so pleased to share an overview with you here.

Today marks an important pivot for The Cooper Union–a move from an intensive phase of planning to an intensive phase of doing. We won’t be able to do it alone. We’ll need the support and enthusiasm of a fully integrated community as we move forward in service of what makes this institution so special.

It is in this spirit of advancement… of making real progress for the generations of young achievers still to come to Cooper… that I ask for your continued support. Please take a moment to read my Annual Fund message.

This is a very special time. We thank you for all you have done to help us get here and hope you’ll join us in inspiring others to follow your lead!

With gratitude,

Laura Sparks
