Each year, the Cooper Union Alumni Association honors an alumnus with the Gano Dunn Award for professional achievement in engineering, industry, science or finance. The candidate is voted on by a committee and receives the award at the Founder’s Day celebration each spring. The recipient of this year’s award has been chosen and will be formally announced in a few weeks. Until then, we delve into the history of the man behind the prestigious award that bears his name.
